Growing up next door to his grandparents, David saw first-hand how important planning can be. There was no advisor that came out and helped them decide what Medicare and insurance plans were the best for them, nor how to invest their retirement. It was seeing them struggle with making decisions neither one was trained or knowledgeable in that started the fire that still burns today.
David takes a very holistic approach when it comes to working with clients and prospective clients. Education is key. Upon first meeting potential clients, David will ask quite a few questions to get to know the person and their situation. Afterward, he will take some time to digest the information and create a unique plan that is designed for them and them alone, utilizing all aspects of their retirement or life’s situation. David prides himself in walking with the clients that he serves through every bit of planning they do together, start to finish.
David joined Gateway Retirement Solutions in 2016 after leaving a successful career at Bankers Life from 2005-2016 as a Unit Sales Supervisor and Financial Advisor. With the insurance and financial industry evolving, he knew to be able to give his clients the best available for them and their situation, he needed to evolve with it.
The son of two United States Marine Corps veterans, putting anything less than 110% into something is not an option. This mantra resonates in his personal life as well as professional. David was raised in Philadelphia where he grew up going to school and working from the age of 12. Working two jobs through high school and college enabled him to graduate from the Community College of Philadelphia with his A.A. in Business in 2004 without the burden of student loans.
In 2004 David took the advice of a close friend to move to Maine to live and work teaching international and domestic teens how to rock climb and rappel. It was here that he met Erin, who is now his wife of 14 years.
An avid outdoorsman, you will find David in the woods any chance he gets, whether its camping, hunting or hiking with his family. David and Erin live in Androscoggin County with their two children, Gavin and Charlotte, where he is active in his community, willing to help anyone he can.
David holds his life and health insurance licenses in Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, North Carolina, South Carolina, Alabama and Indiana. He also holds his FINRA Series 6 & 63 registrations and his Certification in Long Term Care as a Lifetime Member.
David is the Vice President of the St. Dominic Academy Booster Club, a member of the Kennebec Valley Chamber of Commerce, Financial Services Institute, Ancient Free and Accepted Masons of Maine – Keystone Lodge, and the Scottish Right Masons – Androscoggin Valley.
